Tough MomThose days when you are about to lose your mind from all the chaos, remember you are tougher than you think. Take a moment, a breath, and keep pushing forward. The moment will pass, the day will pass and a year from now, you may not even remember it.
Beginning of the EndLet's face it, parenting is already difficult but when you have another kid thrown into the mix, it all changes. Sibling rivalry, jealousy, revenge, teasing, pestering, and of course the love, affection, and unstoppable friendships. Remember when your lap was your lap?
MotherhoodDid you ever stop and take in the beauty of your children? I’m not talking about their physical beauty but their soul: the way they laugh, their eyes when they need you to hold them, their innocent humorous way they see life. What a blessing it is to be their mother.
ThankfulBeing a parent can test your patience. In the heat of the moment, take a break. Breathe in and breathe out. Think of what you are thankful for. The moment will pass and you can enjoy your kids again.
I Choose YouWe all have so much to do. When your baby won’t let you put him/her down, stop, take a breath, forget about that list, and hold your sweet child. You won’t remember all the laundry you did or didn’t do, but you will remember that embrace. In the crazy moments, choose her/choose him.
Stranger LoveInspired by Stranger Things and Dusting’s Love for his pet demodog, Dart. This is an alternate ending for Stranger Things 2 where instead of Dustin looking for a love to dance with, he dances with his lovely d’Artagnan. A true love story for the books folks. Shawn Levy, I,m available if you want suggestions for future episodes. ;) Love is Love.
Momming is HardBeing a mom is the greatest and hardest part of my life. Gaining a different perspective would make this moment hilarious. Illustrating real moments like this has been therapeutic and fun to create.
Hope in MotherhoodThis is a weird illustration, I know. Momming is hard. Sometimes I wonder what Mary went through as a mother. Did he bite her nipple when his teeth were coming in? Was she covered in spit-up? Were there moments when Jesus woke the couple way too many times through the night? They were on the run from King Herod's plan to kill every male baby in Jerusalem. How did that work? Did Jesus take to the journey as an infant? Was Mary in pain from birth? So many questions, but knowing she did it and raised the king of all kings gives me hope.
Making Magic is HardTo be a mom, you make magic. When you are tired, working on 4 hours of solid sleep, parenting rambunctious kids who need you for nourishment and entertainment can be difficult. We do it don't we. We are unicorns. Magical.
DreamI remember being so young and ambitious. Nothing could stop me.
Sisters Sisters make the bestest of friends.
Mommy in TrainingShe’s so gentle with her babies! Haha!
Light of my Life12 years of marriage to your best friend and We still look at each other like they light up our world.
Gloom & DoomWhen you are called out for being all gloom and doom. “No I’m not!”
MOMbieWorking on little to no sleep and still raising your kids. Mom life is no joke.
MOMsterI love playing monster with my kids. Do you?
Pains of ParentingI want to hold my child when she’s upset. I want to carry her around always close to me. Chronic back pain prevents me from being the parent I wanted to be.
Chill OutSummer days. This illustration goes out to all the moms pregnant in the summer. Relax, sit back, stay hydrated, and enjoy having one less mouth to feed in this moment.
Hang in thereMomming multiple kids is difficult. Kids that are rambunctious when they need to perform a task may seem like they aren’t following directions. And a little one who is rolling out of her dirty diaper in order to get into something is learning about her environment. Hang in there. You are a good mom raising independent kids who love to explore and enjoy life.
Don’t Believe ThemAs a mother, we spend most our time making sure everyone else’s needs are met. When we finally do face what’s going on inside, we can feel selfish, out of control, defeated, not good enough, broken, and in pain. Let’s not believe the lies. Let’s give ourselves grace. Let’s see us the way our children see us. We are healers, life givers, the ultimate creator, lovers, thinkers, problem solvers, and
What Babies LoveNobody tells you how difficult nursing can be for some women. They say, if it hurts you are doing it wrong. They tell you not to use things that help like nipple shields. There’s nipple confusion, pumping, mastitis, not to mention all the lost sleep, oversized breasts, and breastfeeding in public. When you charge through with hope that it will get better, not only do you give your baby nutrition but you empower yourself. Stop listening to everybody else. We have instincts and intuition. Listen to your body and harnes that strength you have. Remember what is most important, your beautiful baby.
The WaitFor the soon to be mom, your love is growing with each day. Such a special time of anticipation and excitement.
